YouTube Music and YouTube Premium have been launched in Norway. The services are licensed by TONO.

YouTube Music is a music streaming service where users can find original songs, albums, playlists, artist radio and music videos in addition to content uploaded by users of the service. Users can choose between an advertising-supported version or subscribe to YouTube Music Premium for 99 kroner per month.

YouTube Premium is the ad-supported version of the service, but users are free from ads and the service has an offline feature where users can download videos. Premium also gives access to YouTube Music Premium, and costs 119 kroner per month.

The YouTube agreement with TONO was signed a year ago.

– YouTube is, as we all know, one of the world's most used media platforms. We therefore also believe that the chances are high that many will become subscribers to the new YouTube services. TONO is pleased with all services that want to use our repertoire, and the agreement TONO has with Google for these services will generate income for our members. We wish YouTube the best of luck, says Department Director for Online Media, Inger Elise Mey.
