/ 10/09/2021 / Willy MartinsenOn Friday, September 10, TONO YLTV CEO and driving force Marius Solberg was surprised with the Mediator Award during a podcast recording. Solberg was a guest on the TONO podcast, Lage Musikk, hosted by artist and songwriter Torgny Amdam. The podcast host has also served as a jury chair for the EDVARD Award.
– It's very nice to get confirmation that you're doing something good. It takes blood, sweat and tears to run a "passion project" like this, and it's things like this and nice DMs from people that make you care. It's not about money or what the industry cares about. It's the people watching that matter, said Marius Solberg, when he received the award, which consists of 50,000 kroner and a diploma designed by Magne Furuholmen.
"Marius Solberg has dedicated his entire life to a genre that has historically been crucial for many underground communities and their members. With YLTV, Solberg has elevated, challenged and enriched the hip-hop and rap scene for a number of years. Through high-quality multimedia journalism and dedication to established, as well as new, talents, Solberg has created attention for the genre in an impressive way. YLTV oozes the joy of communicating and takes the pulse of the streets, 24/7, all year round. In this way, Solberg contributes to challenging the popular field with new voices and perspectives that otherwise rarely get into the spotlight of mainstream society."
