WiMP is launching today, as the first streaming provider, a new service where the user is informed which people have written and produced the songs you listen to on the service.
/ 24/02/2014 / codex– As an organization for authors and rights holders, TONO is naturally pleased that WiMP now provides information about the people behind the songs on the service. This is interesting information for music lovers, and not least it helps to highlight the work of those who write the music, says TONO's communications manager, Willy Martinsen.
– Music discovery is not just about finding new songs, but very often also about learning more about the artist and understanding why a song or album sounds the way it does and who is behind it. We believe it is time that songwriters, composers, producers and performing musicians are also showcased and featured in our service and we are confident that this will give people a much deeper connection to their favorite songs and in the next step to discover new favorites, says Andy Chen, CEO of WiMP. The producers and performing artists are now also featured on songs and albums. The new service was launched today, January 24.
