WiMP is now introducing a new service that allows the corporate market to legally use music streaming in public spaces. “The use of music provides significant competitive advantages for many types of businesses, and here is a service that makes this easy,” says Inger Elise Mey, Department Director for Online at TONO.
/ 08/05/2013 / codexThe standard terms and conditions of the various streaming services state that the services can only be used for private use. With WiMP's new service, businesses have been given the opportunity to use streaming services in their retail premises, for example.
TONO wants to facilitate the use of the TONO repertoire in as many contexts as possible, and has now facilitated the launch of WiMP's service. - The service gives composers, songwriters, lyricists and music publishers another opportunity to reach their audience via streaming. For businesses, whether they are fitness centers, shops or other, the service provides a simple and fantastic opportunity to use music as a value-added part of their service offering. For many, using music will mean significant competitive advantages in the fight for customers, says Inger Elise Mey, Department Director for Online at TONO. TONO experiences that there is a great demand for services like this: - TONO's revenues in the online area have doubled year on year since 2009, with a record-high growth in 2012 of 130 percent. The subscription-based streaming services have received a lot of attention and represent a large part of these revenues for songwriters. At the same time, we have had a lot of demand from shops and nightclubs who want legal access to a streaming subscription that can be used publicly. TONO is therefore very pleased to have been able to contribute to WiMP being able to launch a subscription for this market, says Inger Elise Mey, Department Director for Online at TONO.
