/ 20/03/2019 / Kristian DugstadThe application period for this year's TONO grant and Young Talents grant is now open. From March 20 to April 24, TONO members can apply for grants for their projects. Here you can read about the criteria and how to apply.

TONO's two scholarship schemes, the TONO Scholarship and Young Talents, are instruments that are intended to provide concrete stimulation for the creation of new musical works and new music lyrics. This year, 13,2 million kroner has been set aside for scholarships. The Norwegian Composers' Association and NOPA have also allocated funds for Young Talents this year. You can apply for the scholarship at the member service My TONO.
– One of TONO's tasks is, according to our statutes, to work for the innovation of music. TONO's work with the collection and payment of fees contributes very concretely to this, but the scholarship schemes are also an important part of this mission. We see year after year that the scholarship leads very concretely to new works being written and projects being realized. We hope that many will take advantage of the opportunity to apply for a scholarship this year, says Deputy Director of TONO, Svein Korshamn.
To be able to apply for the TONO grant, you must have had a management contract with TONO for at least three years as of April 24. Applicants must normally have had an average settlement for carryover in the previous three years of at least kr 5,000 per year.
The "Young Talents" scholarship does not require three years of membership. You can apply even if you have just become a TONO member. However, you must be between the ages of 17 and 23.
A member can only apply for one of the two scholarships. Read more about the criteria for applying, and what you should emphasize in your application, by click here.
Please note that applications received after the deadline will not be considered. You can only apply for one of the scholarships, but you will find links to both via my login service.
