Spellemann is now changing some of its categories. Most important for TONO members is that the TONO Composer Award will once again be divided into the TONO Composer Award and Songwriter of the Year.
/ 20/11/2024 / Kristian DugstadSpellemann announced (date) that next year two author awards would be presented – TONO's Composer Award and the Lyricist of the Year. Both awards would be completely genre-independent, so that awards could be presented to authors across the entire genre spectrum – from pop to contemporary, country, blues and so on.
Today, Spellemann has announced that they are returning to three author awards, as they have been in recent years. This means that TONO's composer award will once again be split into two awards – TONO's composer award and Songwriter of the Year.
At the same time, the merged categories Classical/Contemporary and Country/Blues are also being split, each becoming its own category.
The reason for these changes is that the Spellemann board has listened to feedback from the music community. Spellemann has also extended the deadline for submitting contributions to November 28, 2024.
