/ 05/09/2016 / codexTONO has submitted its consultation response to the Ministry of Culture's proposal for a new Copyright Act by the deadline of September 1. TONO has long pointed out the need for a modernization of the Copyright Act.
"Over the past 20 years, the legal rules have been partly outdated and lagging behind technological developments," says TONO in the introduction. It further states:
“TONO expects that the final bill will help restore this balance, so that the government's main goal is achieved, namely "that creative and performing artists will be able to make a living from their activities to a greater extent, and that investments in creative content are facilitated."
