The case goes back several years, when TONO filed a lawsuit against RiksTV in 2012, claiming that RiksTV makes musical works that TONO manages available to the public, and that this is an action that requires permission from TONO. The judgment means that TONO will be entitled to compensation from RiksTV for their distribution of more than twenty channels broadcast from abroad, with claims dating back to 2009. The judgment also states that TONO is entitled to have legal costs covered.
