TONO has now paid out NOK 32,1 million in compensation for the use of music in streaming services. The payment was announced to be postponed after the June settlement due to delayed reports from our then subcontractor, Network of Music Partners (NMP).
/ 01/07/2026 / Willy MartinsenThe reports have now been received, quality assured and processed, and the payment has been made. TONO members who receive a settlement can find information about the amount and which services the settlement applies to on My TONO.
29,391 TONO members are receiving settlement this time.
This payment is the last one made in collaboration with NMP. Starting with the September settlement, TONO's collaboration with ICE Core, our new provider of music streaming administration services, will begin. This means that TONO will use the same provider as BMI (USA), GEMA (Germany), STIM (Sweden), PRS for Music (UK) and others.
The settlement includes, among others, TIDAL, YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, Meta and Amazon.
