In July 2005, the Storting decided to implement the EU Copyright Directive into Norwegian law. This included the introduction of a remuneration scheme for copying for private use of intellectual property that has been made legally available to the public.

This money was paid to the joint organization NORWACO where it was distributed among the licensee groups, including TONO. This settlement, which will be paid during March, contains funds for both 2005 and 2006. In total, approximately 12 million kroner has been settled.
