All applicants for this year's TONO scholarship and Young Talents scholarship will be informed today by email about the result of the scholarship processing.
/ 19/05/2016 / codexThis year's application period for the TONO scholarship and the Young Talents scholarship was from March 10 to April 12. The scholarship committee has now completed its work, and today all applicants will receive information by email whether they have been awarded a scholarship or not. 283 applicants have been awarded the TONO scholarship this year while 111 applicants have been granted the Young Talents scholarship, a total of 394 applicants.
In its assessment of the applications, the scholarship committee has based its assessment on the following: CRITERIA which is described on tono.no, and which was informed about in the scholarship announcement. The scholarships will be transferred on May 23rd to the account number the applicants provided in their application.
In line with a decision made by TONO's board in 2014, scholarships are awarded under the ordinary TONO scholarship at three main levels, respectively: kr +100 000 kr 50,000 and kr 25,000. After specific assessments, a different scholarship amount was granted, kr 10,000, for individual applications where support was sought for the same, joint project. The following number of scholarships will be awarded in 2016 at the various levels:
7 scholarships each kr 10,000 = kr 700 000
49 scholarships each kr 50,000 = kr Phone: 2 450 000
217 scholarships each kr 25,000 = kr Phone: 5 425 000
10 scholarships each kr 10,000 = kr 100 000
283 scholarships total = kr Phone: 8 675 000
This year, a total of kr 876,000 for the Young Talents scholarship, of which kr 600,000 has been allocated by the group associations NOPA and NKF in a ratio of 60/40. The amount has been distributed at three levels, respectively kr +10 000 kr 50,000 and kr 6 000:
26 scholarships each kr 10,000 = kr 260 000
53 scholarships each kr 6,000 = kr 424 000
32 scholarships each kr 6,000 = kr 192 000
111 scholarships total = kr 876 000
The committee consisted of Svein Dag Hauge and Rita Eriksen from NOPA, Stine Sørlie and Bjørn Bolstad Skjelbred from NKF, Solveig Slettahjell (free position/NOPA) and Alexander Rishaug (free position/unaffiliated), as well as Steinar Fjeld from Musikkforleggerne.
The amount distributed was lower than the maximum limit. The excess amount will be transferred to next year's scholarship pool.
The scholarship committee's decision may be appealed to the TONO board within three weeks of notification of the decision to the applicant. The right to appeal only applies to the case processing, not the committee's discretion.
