TONO is looking for new trainees

Through TONO's trainee program, we offer graduates an opportunity to develop both professionally and personally by working closely with the core of the Norwegian music industry. Our trainees will gain experience from several parts of the TONO organization, and practice their professional knowledge through varied work assignments within different disciplines.

The tasks in TONO's trainee program do not require specific professional education and span a wide range of disciplines. We are therefore looking for newly graduated economists, engineers, lawyers, communicators, and political scientists, and more.

Through the trainee program, you will rotate between different departments in TONO, for example, marketing, member services, legal, finance, communications or HR. In the various departments, you will be able to participate in and have partial responsibility for projects within, among other things, business development and digitalization, and otherwise contribute to TONO's digital transformation.

We are looking for you as:

  • Just graduated from college/university
  • Have a relevant bachelor's or master's degree
  • Have good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian and English
  • Able to deal with many different stakeholders with a service-oriented attitude and good work capacity.
  • Be inclusive and motivating in your form of collaboration.
  • Is ambitious on behalf of both himself and the organization.
  • Think ahead, are self-driven, analytical and proactive, and have the ability to challenge us in the further development of our business.
  • Wants to contribute to an interdisciplinary environment working in a market undergoing rapid technological change, and therefore thrives both with independent work and working in a team.
  • Ability to handle sometimes hectic days and varied tasks

About the employer

TONO is owned and managed by composers, lyricists and music publishers, and manages on their behalf the economic copyrights in the music they have created. TONO grants permission for the use of protected music, for example on radio, TV, the internet, concerts and cinema for a fee, and transfers its financial result to music rights holders every year. TONO has 40,000 members, but also works for millions of composers, lyricists and music publishers from around the world. TONO's social role is twofold through, on the one hand, collecting and simplifying the licensing of protected music, and on the other, providing music creators with an economic basis for creating new musical works. TONO has 68 employees, and in 2022, it had a turnover of kr 864,6 million. (Figures for 2023 have not yet been published)
