September 15-17 is the time for By:Larm again. TONO is one of the festival's partners, and is behind several entries on the conference program.
/ 13/09/2022 / Kristian DugstadOn Thursday, September 15, the doors to one of the Nordic countries' largest industry gatherings will open again. By:Larm brings together the music industry from near and far for a rich conference program and concerts with exciting artists.
TONO is one of By:Larm's partners, and has its own Lounge in the foyer of Dansens Hus. We also have several entries on this year's conference program.
Among TONO's 38,000 members, only 2 in 10 are women. Similarly, only 12 percent of the songwriters and 0,7 percent of the producers in the 50 most played songs on Spotify in 2020 were women. Where will the female music creators be? What obstacles stand in the way, what is being done and what can be done by new measures? And what does it mean for the audience that so little of the music is written by women?
In the panel:
Amanda Delara (artist and songwriter)
Sofie Søndervik Sæther (program director, JM Norway)
Sira Berry (Senior Editor, Spotify)
Moderator: Siri Haugan Holden (Balance Art)
Time: Thursday, September 15th, 10:00 – 10:45
Location: House of Dance 2
Take a break from the seminars when TONO in the foyer of Dansens hus offers a mini-concert with Spellemann winner and EDVARD nominee Beharie. VG calls him "Norway's biggest soul pop hope", while P3 followed up with "If Leon Bridges, Michael Kiwanuka and John Legend had a child together, it would be Beharie".
Time: Thursday, September 15 at 11:45 AM
Place: TONO Lounge, the foyer at Dansens Hus
NFTs (non-fungible tokens) have been widely discussed in international industry media over the past couple of years. But what exactly is an NFT, and is it a new and important revenue opportunity for music creators? How is the value of an NFT determined, what rights must be cleared before use – and do NFTs really change anything in the music economy?
In the panel:
Jørgen "Sissyfus" Skjulstad (songwriter, producer and artist)
Thor Martin Bærug, (consultant for the music and media industry)
Inger Elise Mey (Department Director, Online Media TONO)
Moderator: Linda Portnoff (CEO, Tangy Market)
Time: Thursday, September 15th, 10:00 – 10:45
Place: Volcano Dining Room
As in previous years, the foyer of Dansens Hus will be transformed into a TONO Lounge. In addition to the mini-concert with Beharie, it will be possible to meet TONO employees and pick up some merch.
Other events will also take place here, including the City Alarm of the Year award ceremony on Thursday, September 15th at 10:45 a.m., and the SPARWK Get Together” on Friday, September 16th at 3 p.m.
