TONO launches the podcast series "Lage Musikk". First up are four exciting conversations with Arif and Unge Ferrari, Jørn "Necrobutcher" Stubberud from Mayhem, Sandra Kolstad and guitarists Maciek Ofstad and Vidar Landa from Kvelertak. The podcast is hosted by Torgny Amdam.

– We thought we would launch with a bit of "swing", and release four hour-long conversations at once. Artist and songwriter Torgny Amdam is doing the interviews for us, and his meetings with Arif and Unge Ferrari, Kvelertak, Necrobutcher from Mayhem and Sandra Kolstad are full of exciting and many previously unknown stories from the artists' lives with songwriting, production and touring life, says TONO's communications manager, Willy Martinsen. – We look forward to launching further podcasts throughout 2018 with relevant and exciting names.

Arif and Unge Ferrari talk about autotune ideology, their own unpleasant experiences with sexual harassment, their collaboration with the star Medina and their latest solo releases "Meg og Deg Mot Alle" and "Romeo Må Dø".
Torgny Amdam behind the microphone
Torgny Amdam conducts the interviews on behalf of TONO. Amdam is himself an artist, songwriter and lyricist, but in recent years has also distinguished himself as a skilled portrait interviewer. For Aftenposten TV, he has interviewed people such as Kåre Willoch, Mads Gilbert, Karpe Diem and Sissel Gran.
– The thematic core of the conversations is the creative process around making music. I want to “nerd” about equipment and techniques, while at the same time everything around music is welcome in the conversation: Everything from childhood and adolescence, sociology, psychology, industry considerations, rituals, cultural analyses, morality, other art, ambitions… whatever! Keith Jarrett is said to have said that “music comes from somewhere else”, from something other than the music itself. Making music is connected to the rest of life, says Torgny Amdam, and adds:
– As a songwriter and artist myself, I hope I can help make the conversations collegial, informal and inspired. I hope the conversations can be relevant and inspiring for aspiring music creators and all people genuinely interested in music.
Launched on the occasion of TONO's 90th anniversary
For TONO, the podcast is a commitment to mark 90 years since Norwegian composers established TONO in 2018:
– TONO's great passion for 90 years has been to spread the message that the work that composers, songwriters, lyricists and their music publishers do is enormously important. They deserve and should be paid fairly and rightfully when their music is used. We hope and believe that the podcast will contribute to the understanding that the TONO fee is a well-deserved salary for the music creators, says TONO's communications manager, Willy Martinsen.
