TONO is leading a panel on the Norwegian streaming market at the South by South West conference in Austin today. You can follow the debate by using the hashtag #sxstreaming on Twitter and Instagram.

The research project "Sky&Scene" at the University of Oslo, in collaboration with Wimp, is behind the panel. "Distribution of Income in a Streaming Economy"The panel will discuss new models for distributing streaming revenue. The background is recent research on the difference between the current distribution model and a user-centric model, where the revenue from each user is distributed among the artists that the individual subscriber has listened to.

The panel will be moderated and led by Inger Elise Mey, Department Director for Online Media at TONO.

The panel:
Arnt Maasø (Associate Professor at the Department of Media and Communication, UiO), Kjartan Slette (Director of Strategy, Product and Editorial Department at WiMP Music), Hedvig Mollestad Thomassen (Norwegian composer and jazz guitarist) and Trond Tornes (Marketing Director at Phonofile).
