TONO celebrates with magazine

In 2018, it will be 90 years since TONO was established on November 27, 1928. We are marking the milestone with a series of articles about TONO's history, present and future. Read the anniversary magazine here at tono.no.

With this collection of articles, we want to highlight TONO's 90 years through interviews with TONO's CEO Cato Strøm, the leaders of TONO's group associations, some of TONO's employees, the members Bente Leiknes Thorsen and Kai Gundelach, TONO's first – and still largest – customer NRK, Professor Even Ruud on what music means to listeners, an interview with musicologist Audun Molde about the history of music itself throughout these 90 years and more.

We think it has been a nice collection of articles, and we hope that you who read them learn something new about TONO along the way. We are grateful to all the interviewees who gave us their time.

The articles have also been published in a paper magazine. It is a source of great joy that some final proofreading adjustments in the interview with Audun Molde unfortunately did not make it into the printed edition. The editorial team would like to point out that Molde referred to the composer Gunnar Sønstevold in the interview, but the name was unfortunately reproduced incorrectly in the printed magazine. We naturally deeply regret this.
