TONO has chosen Spanish Point Technologies as a supplier of new business-critical computer systems. “The collaboration will provide TONO with better systems for rights management to meet the current and future expectations of members, customers and international partners,” says TONO CEO Karl Vestli.
/ 08/11/2022 / Kristian DugstadIrish technology company Spanish Point Technologies is TONO's new supplier of central IT systems. The company, which currently has TONO's umbrella organization CISAC as a customer, will deliver the technological framework for TONO's entire operations.
– Spanish Point Technologies is a recognized supplier of professional systems for players in the management of music rights. After a long and thorough process in which we have evaluated eight different suppliers against each other, we now have full confidence that Spanish Point's systems will help TONO maintain its position as one of the leading management companies in the world. We will use solutions from Spanish Point within all of our core functions, which are licensing, reporting and settlement of remuneration to composers, lyricists and music publishers, says Vestli.
The agreement initially applies to back-office functionality, but also provides options to create new, or further develop existing, CRM systems, as well as member and customer portals.
Collective management companies receive huge amounts of reports on music performed by broadcasters, concert organizers, etc. The information in these reports must be correctly linked to the companies' databases of works. Spanish Point's matching engine solution includes a wide range of features for automation and data quality improvement, which also provides cost savings for the companies that use it.
“Our Matching Engine solution can help organizations like TONO automate work processes and manage growing data volumes. We look forward to working with TONO and continuing to provide management organizations with innovative software solutions,” says John Corley, Chief Technology Officer at Spanish Point Technologies.
The "Matching Engine" solution is built on modern cloud-based architecture on Microsoft Azure technology. The solution has helped a number of collective management companies solve data challenges, errors in metadata and ensure that correct settlements go to the correct rights holders in a transparent manner.
– When TONO implements the solution, TONO members will experience better services in the member service My TONO through automated work processes, faster response times and better data quality, to name a few. Customers will also receive services that will solve their needs in a user-friendly and good way. We look forward to starting to launch new solutions and new functionality during 2023, says Vestli.
The partnership with Spanish Point will result in a number of projects that will be part of a larger project portfolio for TONO from 2023. This is the first of several extensive investments in ICT and digitalization in the coming years.
– We must meet the expectations of our members, customers and partners in other countries, and must have the systems that make this possible. The investment in the solutions from Spanish Point will be crucial in this context, says Vestli.
Spanish Point currently supplies systems to the international umbrella organization for copyright managers, CISAC, as well as companies in Spain and South Africa. TONO's Irish sister society IMRO has been using Spanish Point's solutions for 16 years.
