Anniversary celebration for awards ceremony
For 50 years, Spellemann has celebrated Norwegian music. – TONO is proud to be able to contribute to this valuable visibility of Norwegian artists, record labels and music creators.

The ten awards at the time were awarded to artists who had distinguished themselves in the music year 1972, and among them Kirsti Sparboe, Erik Bye and Knutsen & Ludvigsen walked away with the first harps.

When: Spellman 2022 will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, thus celebrating the award's 50th anniversary.
In 2009, TONO and Spellemann entered into a collaboration that resulted in the creation of composer and lyricist awards. The categories Popular Composer of the Year, Contemporary Composer of the Year og Copywriter of the Year was awarded for the first time in 2009 for the music year 2008.
Today, TONO is still the guarantor of the prices. TONO Composer's Award og Copywriter of the Year, and appoints the jury in these. In addition, TONO has nominated members in all categories.

The collaboration has been uninterrupted and TONO believes that the work Spellemann does to create awareness about Norwegian music is very significant.

Vestli will present the award in the TONO Composer Award category during Saturday's 50th anniversary celebration.

The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 15th at the H3 Arena in Fornebu. The TV broadcast will be broadcast on NRK 1 that same evening from 21:45 PM – 23:20 PM. It can also be streamed on NRK TV online.
Former Spellemann winner Yosef Woldemariam and NRK presenter Selma Ibrahim will lead the audience and TV viewers through the big party evening.
As of Tuesday this week, NRK P1 has only played Norwegian music in its broadcasts. On Friday, April 14, all NRK radio channels will play exclusively national music.
