DDE has been setting the tone for Norway for 27 years. From large festivals to small village halls, the Namsos band has played for anyone who has wanted to listen. They may never have won the critics over completely, but they have won the hearts of the people, all the same.
On March 31, 2018, Easter Eve, guitarist and songwriter Frode Viken died. He had composed the band's melodies, and written many of the lyrics, since their inception in 1992.
Before he died, he wrote two new songs for DDE. They are now putting an end to Viken's production by recording and releasing the songs.
– We will continue to play Frode's songs as long as DDE exists, but it is painful to know that this is the end of what he has created, says Eivind Berre, bassist in DDE.
The first song, La Det Gro, was released on Wednesday, April 17. The second song will be released in the spring of 2019.
TONO was involved when DDE began studio work on the songs at the end of February. Watch the film now.
