TONO settles 91,6 million

This week, TONO will pay out NOK 91,6 million to composers, songwriters, lyricists and music publishers at home and abroad. In addition, NOK 13,8 million will come from NCB to TONO members.

Today, in the second ordinary quarterly settlement of the year, TONO has settled NOK 91,6 million to licensees at home and abroad.

33,3 million to TONO members
Of the total amount, NOK 33,3 million goes to TONO members, while NOK 55,8 million goes to rights holders abroad. NOK 2,5 million is reserved for unidentified rights holders and musical works, unannounced musical works, non-members and for disputed rights.

The areas that have been settled are performances on Norwegian radio and television in the fourth quarter of 2016, final settlement for radio and television in 2016, NRK.no's program player TV for 2015, advertising on TV2 and TV Norge in 2016, Netflix for the second quarter of 2016, Google Play VoD for April 2014 - September 2015, performances abroad and various subsequent settlements, direct settlements and adjustments.

NCB settlement for physical, sync and online
TONO members also receive billing for downloads and streaming, physical sales and synchronization. We bill this via NCB. The NCB settlement this time is 13,8 million kroner, and originates from, among other things, Spotify for November 2016 - January 2017, iTunes for April - June 2016, Google Play for April - September 2016, Beat for April - June 2016, physical sales of CD, DVD etc. and audiovisual synchronization. In total, this means that the aforementioned TONO and NCB settlements to TONO members amount to 47,1 million kroner.

Large amounts of data
Not including the NCB settlement, there are nearly 13,000 TONO members who have now received a settlement from TONO, and just over 6000 have amounts that exceed the payout limit of NOK 250. Settlements below this amount are placed on the individual TONO members' member accounts, and accumulate until payment when the amount limit is reached. Just over 77,000 rights holders from other countries receive a June settlement from TONO. In total, TONO has now settled remuneration for nearly 270,000 works in June.
