TONO settles 118,1 million

The first TONO money of the year will arrive in your account today. On Tuesday, we will pay out 118,1 million kroner to music creators in Norway and abroad.

The first TONO settlement of the year will be paid out on Tuesday, March 24. NOK 118,1 million will be transferred to composers, lyricists and music publishers in Norway and abroad.

- It is a big settlement this time, and we are happy about that in this difficult time for many of our members, says Communications Manager Willy Martinsen.

TONO members receive NOK 53,5 million. NOK 63,5 million goes to rights holders abroad, via TONO's sister societies worldwide.

- TONO grants permission for public performance of music for a fee. The money we collect is paid out to rights holders based on documented music usage in the form of reports that we receive through our reporting collaboration with broadcasters, streaming services and so on. It is a big settlement this time, and we are happy about that in these difficult times for many of our members, says Communications Manager Willy Martinsen.

Settlement areas

The first TONO settlement of the year consists of money from a number of different areas. The 118,1 million is compensation for music played on TV, radio and in music and video streaming services.

In the radio area, NRK, Bauer Media, the P4 group and local radio channels are settled. NRK, TV2 and TV Norge's TV channels are also settled. The same applies to TV distribution from Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, Discovery Science, Discovery World, Investigation Discovery, FEM, MAX, TLC and VOX.

The list also includes the music and video streaming services Spotify, Tidal, YouTube, Beatport, Netflix, Altibox, Google Play, Viaplay and SF Anytime.

TONO members who receive a settlement can see a complete list of what has been settled, and for which period, in the settlement letter sent out on Tuesday morning.

Follow your settlement

On the web service My TONO TONO members can view their balance and all transactions in their member account at any time. Here, they can also search for billing data for individual works across periods and categories with details about the individual performances.
