TONO now settles NOK 117,3 million to composers, lyricists and music publishers at home and abroad.

All radio and TV channels, streaming services, concert organizers, cafes and so on that want to offer music to their customers must have permission from TONO to do so. As a TONO customer, you can play exactly what you want, and at the same time be assured that the invoice you pay to TONO is the salary of those who have composed the music and written the lyrics – regardless of whether they are Norwegian or foreign.

This year's second quarter settlement

Today is an important day for TONO members and colleagues in other countries. It is time for the second quarterly settlement of the year. Of the 117,3 million kroner that TONO is settling this week, 49,1 million kroner goes to TONO members and 65,1 million kroner to foreign rights holders. In addition, 3,1 million kroner has been reserved for currently unidentified rights holders and musical works, unreported musical works, non-members and disputed rights – this time kr 3,1 millions.

The settlement areas this time

Radio
NRK (14 channels), Bauer Media (10 channels), P4 group (9 channels) and local radio area. Payments for music use will be made in the 4th quarter of 2018. In addition, final payments for 2018 will be made.

Television broadcasting
NRK (5 channels), TV2 (8 channels) and TV Norge. Payments for music use will be made in the 4th quarter of 2018. In addition, final payments for 2018 will be made.

Streaming services
Spotify for December 2018 and January 2019, Tidal for Q4 2018, Apple Music for Q3 2018, YouTube for Q4 2018 as well as minor settlements for Beat.no, Beatport, 7Digital, Phonofile and Gyldendal (Salaby and Explore).

Video on demand services
iTunes VoD for October 2011 - October 2013, HBO Nordic for 2016, Netflix for Q3 2018, Google Play for Q4 2018, Altibox for H2 2018 and NRK's ​​online archive for 2015-2017 (applies to own productions made before 1997).

Other areas
Settlement from abroad, cinema films for 2018, LiveQube music to and in stores for 2018, MyInstore music to and in stores for the 4th quarter of 2018, mega concerts, theatre, revue (settled continuously each quarter) and physical sales of CDs, DVDs etc. and audiovisual synchronization. There are also routine subsequent settlements for previous periods (max. 3 years back) in the broadcasting area, concert area, cinema etc. as well as corrections.
