25,716 TONO members will receive their TONO settlement in the last quarterly settlement of the year. At the same time, the last remaining COVID-19 compensation from the Ministry of Culture will be paid out.

– All the money comes from radio and TV channels, music and video streaming services, concert organizers, hairdressers, cafes and so on who have paid TONO for permission to use TONO's repertoire. As always, we settle the money with composers, lyricists and music publishers in Norway and abroad based on music reports we receive from music users, says Willy Martinsen, Head of Communications at TONO.
Of the 116,3 million kroner that is distributed in total, 54,7 million kroner goes to the aforementioned 25,716 TONO members who have had their music performed publicly.
NOK 59,4 million is sent to composers and lyricists from other countries.
As always, TONO also sets aside money for currently unidentified rights holders and musical works, currently unannounced musical works, non-members, as well as money set aside pending solutions to disputed rights. This time, this is approximately NOK 2,2 million.

The Ministry of Culture gave TONO 30,5 million kroner earlier this year as compensation for Covid-19-related loss of income. TONO paid out most of this in September, and now the rest is expiring. This is a total of kr NOK 1,6 million, as compensation for loss of income from cinema films, revues and various non-program performance areas for 2020 as a result of COVID-19.
