At the Norwegian Composers' Association's general meeting on Friday, May 20, Jørgen Karlstrøm was elected as the new chairman and Stine Sørlie as the new deputy chairman.
/ 24/05/2016 / codexThe Norwegian Composers' Association, which established TONO in 1928, and which today remains one of three group associations in TONO, has a new chairman and deputy chairman.
The new chairman, Jørgen Karlstrøm (1981) is a freelance composer, producer and musician, and is educated at the Norwegian Academy of Music, Hochshule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin and the Grieg Academy. In recent years he has worked as a studio producer and songwriter at PhatCato Studios in Oslo. Karlstrøm has been involved in organizational life, on boards, committees and committees at various times, and is also a current deputy member of TONO's Music and Textual Committee.
The new deputy chair, Stine Sørlie (1978), is a composer from Gotland Tonsättarskole and the Norwegian Academy of Music, and holds a cand.mag in musicology from UiO. She has been the first deputy on the board of the Composers' Association since 2014, but has been active in the board's work for the past year. She has served on the program committee for the Composers' Association and NOPA's Music Forum since 2012. She has broad experience with music policy work, and has been chair of nyMusikk's composer group from 2012-14 and a board member from 2010-15. She has also been active in a number of other music policy contexts and projects.
