In November 2018, Jonas Skaarud was awarded the EDVARD Prize in the contemporary category. The composer greatly appreciates the recognition. – There are many role models on the list of previous winners.

Skaarud received the award for the play (forthwith a change came over the waters) and the serenity became less brilliant but more profound. A concerto for accordion and sinfonietta, written for accordionist Andreas Angell.

– I actually stole the title. It's a sentence from Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. I thought the sentence itself was very nice, so I took it out of context and used it as the basis for the play, he says.
