This week, the Spellemann Prize is being held for the 49th time, with awards being presented on a number of different NRK channels throughout the week leading up to the Spellemann show on NRK 1 on Friday. TONO is also this year's guarantor of the TONO Composer's Prize and Lyricist of the Year awards.

The first award ceremony was held on Tuesday on live radio and on Dagsrevyen. The week ends with the big Spellemannprisen show on NRK TV on Friday evening. This will be shown in two parts, with part 1 starting at 20:05 and part 2 from 22:25.
When TONO chose to partner with Spellemann in 2008, three author awards were established: Lyricist of the Year, Contemporary Composer of the Year and Popular Composer of the Year. TONO is still the guarantor for the Lyricist of the Year and TONO's Composer Award categories, and also appoints all the jury members in these two categories. TONO has also had a permanent observer position on Spellemann's board in recent years.
In connection with Spellemann Week, NRK P1 will only play Norwegian music from Tuesday to Friday, and all NRK's radio channels will do the same throughout Friday. All 107 nominees will be profiled on NRK's channels throughout the last few days leading up to Spellemann Week or during Spellemann Week itself leading up to the Spellemann show on Friday.
