Summer greetings from CEO 2024

At the TONO office, we are entering a quiet summer month and leaving an eventful six months behind us.

There is a lot going on with and around us these days. We have had two major payouts to members so far this year, while we are also making a big effort to ensure reasonable licensing terms within streaming, concerts and broadcasting.

Although music creates great value for users, it is not always easy to create understanding that creators should receive a fair remuneration for their use. Many of you have seen and read media reports about this in recent months.

In June, TONO held its annual meeting. There was no majority in favor of the board's proposal for a new billing model. This means that both the board and the administration are now working to respond to the input received at the meeting as quickly as possible, and to invite you to an extra ordinary annual meeting shortly.
