The time has come to apply for a scholarship from TONO. This year, like last year, applications can be made in two categories: Ordinary scholarship and Young talents. The application deadline is April 15th.

– One of the most important reasons why we have a TONO is that it should help to create the conditions for new music and new lyrics to music to be created. The scholarship scheme is an expression of this, and is also an important grant for those whose applications are approved, says the scholarship committee's coordinator Svein Korshamn. You can apply for support for a wide range of purposes, as long as it can be related to your creative activity. To be able to apply for the ordinary scholarship, you must have had a management contract with TONO for at least three years and normally an average annual settlement for performances in Norway for the last three years of at least NOK 5000. Applications are given an overall assessment based on, among other things, the design and content of the application, and documentation of previous and current creative activity. This documents your ability to implement, and it is also important considering that the scholarship funds come from fees that TONO has collected on behalf of those who have a management contract with TONO. There are many very young people who write music in Norway. Many are talented, but have little income from their creative activities. This is the background for the scholarship scheme "Young Talents", which receives funds from TONO's group associations NOPA and NKF. The scholarship is awarded to young applicants. The only requirement is that you must be a TONO member and not older than 21 years. You can only apply for one of the scholarships.
