The Norwegian Composers' Fund

The Norwegian Composers' Fund is a foundation that aims to stimulate music creation in all genres. They do this primarily by supporting the commissioning of new music from composers who live and work in Norway, and who have publicly demonstrated their professional activity as a composer.

The fund was established under the Act on fees to the Norwegian Composers' Fund. According to the law, TONO, as a company that operates as an intermediary for authors of musical works, must pay an annual fee of two percent of gross income. Only TONO is covered by this law. In other words, the funds of the Norwegian Composers' Fund originate from TONO.

The Norwegian Composers' Fund has two application deadlines per year. You can apply by March 2nd at 13:00 PM and October 4th at 13:00 PM (Normally October 2nd, but postponed in 2021).
