MEET A MEMBER: CELIIN - CELINE SOLEMSLØKK HELGEMO
Celine Solemsløkk Helgemo became known to the Norwegian people as early as 2007. The 11-year-old with pink streaks in her hair won MGP Jr. with the song Bæstevænna, and the victory resulted in concerts, albums and media attention – a lot.

However, after a career as a presenter on the Disney Channel, and participation in Star Wars in 2015, it came to an end.
– I felt that I had to search inward and explore the core of what I do – songwriting, she says.
For a while, Helgemo spent her time attending songwriting camps, and she has written music for a number of artists. But pitching, leads and cuts did not satisfy her need for creative expression. Writing songs for others is one thing, but what did she want to create just for herself?
The fruit of the search for uniqueness and inner motivation came in 2019, and the artist project CELIIN saw the light of day.
– I want to carry on Janoves' top hat. Someone has to create the next universe, and that's what I'm working towards. I'm inspired by the mystery of Susanne Sundfør, the madness that Kaizers delivers, the macabre of Gojira, the beauty of Hans Zimmer, the glamour of Lana Del Rey, the humor of the cabaret scene and the energy of Miley Cyrus, she says.
The search for this multifaceted expression recently led her to Los Angeles, where she has worked with several film and television composers, which she describes as an exciting experimental process.
– I have finally accepted and become comfortable in my genre dilemma – and my long-term goal is to create my own genre: Dirty glamour.
In April, she released the single Violins, in the fall she will take the music to the stage, and in 2025, by all accounts, her debut album will arrive.

At the center of the entire project is the core she has dug herself into – namely the music creator.
– For me as the artist CELIIN, the songwriter is the very foundation. CELIIN is first and foremost a songwriter and storyteller.
TONO membership has followed Helgemo since she danced and sang for the entire Norwegian people at Oslo Spektrum in 2007. It is a partnership she has greatly appreciated.
– That we have a system that looks after us is something I am very grateful for and do not take for granted. When we know how tough this industry is at times, it is no secret that someone contributes to the income stream – and not least takes care of work tasks so that we can take off at least one of all these hats we juggle.
