The Prysen Prize 2011

The Prøysen Prize 2011 has been awarded to Stein Torleif Bjella. Dumdumboys received the Prøysen Prize of Honor.

The Prøysen Prize was established in honor of Alf Prøysen and is awarded for outstanding contributions to music, singing or poetry – within the genres associated with Prøysen. The prize was awarded for the 39th time.

The Prussian Prize to Stein Torleif Bjella

Stein Torleif Bjella was presented with the award by Ragnar Bjerkreim, NOPA's (and TONO's) chairman, at the Norwegian Theatre on Friday, February 11. The jury writes, among other things, in its justification:

Prussian Honorary Award to Dumdum Boys

This year's honorary award went to Dumdum Boys, for "having the courage to go their own way and in doing so, they have preserved some of the most important aspects of Alf Prøysen's legacy." The award was presented to the band's manager Steinar Vikan. The band themselves participated via Skype from Trondheim. The jury writes, among other things, in its justification:
