It is important for Hanne Hukkelberg to trust her own artistry. – My whole concept is to be true to myself.
/ 27/08/2019 / Kristian DugstadProducer, songwriter and artist Hanne Hukkelberg released her new album "Birthmark" on August 16. She is a guest on the latest episode of the TONO podcast Making Music.
In conversation with presenter Torgny Amdam, Hukkelberg talks about what it's like to produce her own music, the joy of working in solitude, antidepressants and fluid artistry. During her 30s, she had two children and was introduced to family life. This turned her world upside down, and for a period she felt like she was losing herself.
– I had to go through losing myself to find myself again. Part of that is trusting my artistic whims. My whole concept has always been to be true to myself! That leads to me making a lot of different things. It's possible that something I create will be wrong for someone who listens. That's why I've also lost and gained fans along the way, she says.
– But no one benefits from me losing myself, musically and artistically, Hanne Hukkelberg
