In conversation with Torgny Amdam, she opens up about her textual universe and soundscapes. Hval shares her thoughts on, and experiences with, being an independent artist, songwriter and performer in an increasingly technological and professionalized industry.
– There is an expectation that the artist should also be a promoter. Then I think the artist's role is compromised. I don't think my artist voice should need to be so happy and grateful for all the gigs I do, she says
