Norwaco is a copyright organization that enters into agreements for the secondary exploitation of sound and moving images. The fees collected go back to the rights holders and help lay the foundation for new productions. Norwaco is an umbrella organization. The 34 member organizations represent 60.000 individual rights holders – authors, performers, photographers and producers.
Administration of music in Nordic record productions and AV productions is carried out by NCB on behalf of TONO. In other words, clearance and licensing of music for individual producers (case-by-case, work-by-work) is done from there.
Gesac is a European umbrella organization consisting of 34 of the largest rights organizations in the EU countries, Norway and Switzerland. The organization represents a total of nearly 800,000 rights holders in music, graphic, literary and dramatic works, audiovisual works and music publishers. The organization was established in 1990 and has its headquarters in Brussels.
CISAC is an umbrella organization for the world's rights organizations. The organization unites 227 organizations in 120 different countries, and represents more than three million creators and publishers from various creative industries: music, the audiovisual field, film, drama, literature and graphic/visual arts. The organization was established in 1926 and has non-profit status. The organization's president is the Swedish musician and composer Björn Ulvaeus. The organization has headquarters in Paris, with regional offices in Burkina Faso, Chile, China and Hungary.
TONO and Gramo have chosen that from 2025, TONO will have all customer contact on behalf of both companies. This means that all businesses that use background music only need to contact TONO.
