– Audun Tylden must have been one of Norway's first managers, says Tonje Hovde. He was the manager of the band The Shirrows in the 60s. Together with the band's vocalist, Tom Hovde, he established the record label Tylden in 1992.

– Together they stood on the barricades for Norwegian music, and worked with artists like Ole Ivars, Alf Cranner, Olav Stedje and Odd Børretzen, she says.

Hovde took on the role of CEO of the company after Audun Tylden passed away in 2011 and Tom Hovde retired in 2018. In recent years, the veteran has refreshed its visual profile and logo, and in 2023, the new music publisher Tylden Publishing was started.

New and exciting side of the industry

Tylden has been involved in publishing for many years, through the publishers Norwegian Songs and Bare Bra musikk, which have been associated with the record company. However, Tylden Publishing represents something new.

– It's a new and exciting side of the industry for us. We see so many new opportunities, and have signed several songwriters and producers.

Organizing writing sessions, participating in songwriting camps, and networking that creates new collaborations between artists, songwriters, and producers are some of the things that make up the everyday life of Tylden Publishing, and other modern music publishers.

– What's fun is that we can further develop the material and eventually release it through the record company.
