New members of TONO's board and election committee

At TONO's annual meeting on May 31, new members were elected to TONO's board and election committee. You can see who they are here.

TONO's annual meeting was held yesterday at the Literature House in Wergelandsveien in Oslo, with 82 votes in the hall and 22 proxies. This year, there was an election of four representatives and four alternate representatives for two years to TONO's board, as well as a supplementary election for one year of one representative and one alternate representative to TONO's election committee.

Jørgen Karlstrøm was elected to TONO's board as a new member of the Norwegian Composers' Association. Karlstrøm was elected as the new chairman of the Norwegian Composers' Association in May. Kai Robøle was elected as a new board member in the place of the Music Publishers. Robøle was elected as the new chairman of the Music Publishers' Association in May. Ingrid Kindem from NOPA and independent representative Rita Engedalen were re-elected to the board. Stine Sørlie, new deputy chairman of the Norwegian Composers' Association, was elected as the new 1st Deputy for her association. 2nd Deputy from NOPA Bent Åserud, 1st Deputy from the Music Publishers' Association Unni Boretti and deputy on a vacant seat, independent representative, Stian Westerhus were re-elected.

There were also by-elections for two seats on TONO's election committee, specifically the seats of Music Publishers' representative Kai Robøle, as well as Jan Paulsen's seat as deputy.

Early in the process, Robøle had been urged by the election committee to resign from the election committee in order to be eligible for election to TONO's board, based on TONO's articles of association §30 (4), which states that there is no opportunity for double representation in TONO's annual meeting elected bodies. Paulsen stepped down from the election committee on the basis that he has transferred his publishing portfolio to Norsk Musikforlag, and is therefore no longer an eligible shareholder in TONO.

In accordance with TONO's articles of association § 24 (1), third sentence, TONO's board had previously nominated Kristin Andersen (Musikk-Husets Forlag) as the new representative in Robøles' place, while Frithjof Hungnes (Propeller Music) was nominated as deputy. After the annual meeting, both positions are filled for the remainder of the current election period, i.e. until the annual meeting in 2017.
