The Nordic Popular Authors' Union's honorary award was awarded to Mari Boine and Henning Kvitnes on Monday, August 22nd.

It is awarded every two years by one of the Nordic countries. This year, Norway and NOPA were responsible for the award ceremony, which took place at the Voksenåsen Culture and Conference Hotel. The award was presented by Kari Bremnes, deputy chairman of NOPA.
Previous award winners include Povel Ramel, Povl Dissing/Benny Anderssen, Otto Nielsen, Øivind Bergh, Hasse Alfredson, Jens Book-Jenssen, Jan Garbarek and Svend Asmussen.
