The Cardamom Committee consists of Anne Grete Preus, Eldbjørg Raknes and Sverre Indris Joner.

The Cardamom Scholarship was established by a gift from Thorbjørn Egner, and is continued by the Egner family. This is the 23rd time the Cardamom Scholarship has been awarded.

Halvdan Sivertsen receives NOPA's text award for The jury states, among other things, that "it is somewhat liberating to encounter a text that dares to address a topical and shameful topic, in a good and cliché-free way. It is somewhat liberating to encounter a text that formulates what many of us have felt in the face of the news that Norwegian soldiers are still real Vikings. And when the Nation of Norway is now sitting in the elevator, it is not this text that will flow out of the speakers.

And just that fact is also a bit liberating.”

for the work

is small in external format, but still contains great music. It is a ballad that at first glance looks rather traditional, but which on closer inspection reveals original touches in both form and melody. The jury was also moved by the intimate, almost magical atmosphere of the piece.

As the jury characterizes as large and ambitious, a 20-minute piece for soloist and symphony orchestra. The alternation between solo voice and orchestra is very successful, the work is also named after one of Plato's great dialogues. The composer shows impressive control over the entire apparatus at his disposal, and exploits the sound possibilities, both of the soloist and the orchestra for which he writes, to the fullest.

The award is presented by State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Lubna Jaffery Fjell.

The jury for the NOPA awards consisted of Gaute Storaas, Eigil Berg, Tone Hulbækmo and John Ivar Bye.

The prize amounts are NOK 25,000.

for the beautiful, solid and distinctive lyrical work on the album SYNLIGE HJERTESLAG. There is a personal and mature lyrical universe here, and we can only wish the "pop hope from Prøysenland" good luck in the future.
