The Music Publishers Association, one of TONO's three group associations, is once again organizing the Music Publishers Award. Here you can see which ones have been nominated.
With the Music Publishers Award, the Music Publishers want to honor Norwegian composers, songwriters and publishers for their work and achievements in the past year. The party evening itself will take place at Sentralen on Tuesday, March 21st.
– In the last year, so much good has happened on the songwriter front, especially in popular music, where we see a dramatic increase in the number of Norwegian songwriters and publishers. It seems that there has finally been more self-confidence in the Norwegian music industry and that A&R work has now really adapted to the new streaming lifestyle. We are now starting to make ourselves attractive to international and Norwegian artists, who are just as welcome to come to Oslo to write songs. It is also particularly gratifying to see that young, female songwriters continue to excel, says Jørn Dalchow from Musikkforleggerne.
Nominees are affiliated with Norwegian publishers
The nominees are authors who are affiliated with a Norwegian publishing house and who have distinguished themselves with fantastic works in 2016. The jury for the Classical/Contemporary Music categories consisted of Asbjørn Schaathun, Ida Habbestad and Morten Lindberg. The jury for the Popular Music categories consisted of Sveinung Rindal, Adiele Krüger Arukwe and Audun Molde.
