All music publishers can now apply for grants for travel and projects from Musikkforlaggerne. The application deadline is June 1st.

The music publishers are one of three group associations in TONO. The scholarship funds, which come from TONO's cultural funds, are intended to stimulate the Norwegian music publishing community that works for Norwegian authors so that they can consolidate and strengthen their position in cultural Norway.

Who can apply?


All publishers are welcome to apply, including those who are not members of Musikkforlaggerne. Publishers must meet the following criteria:

  1. The music publisher has a management contract with TONO.
  2. The music publishing company operates a commercial music publishing business.
  3. A single author cannot be the copyright holder for more than 50% of the publisher's works registered in TONO. Exceptions can be granted upon application.
  4. The music publisher must have received at least one settlement from TONO.

What can support be applied for?

Scholarships can be applied for for two purposes: Travel, with the limitation that there is a maximum opportunity to apply for kr 15,000 per year per company, and for projects.

 

Seed grant

All newly established publishers are eligible to apply, including those that are not members of Musikkforlaggerne. Publishers must meet the following criteria: 

a. The music publishing company has a management contract with TONO.
b. The music publisher operates a commercial music publishing business.


What can support be applied for?

There are also two valid purposes: Travel (maximum 15,000 kroner per year per company) and for projects.

 No general operating support is granted. It is also possible to apply for Ad Hoc funds throughout the year. Max. payment per allocation kr 30,000. No support will be awarded for projects that have been completed or begun before the scholarship is awarded. Where practically possible, it should be stated that the project or trip is supported by Musikkforlaggerne.

How to apply


Only applications submitted using the scholarship form on the Music Publishers website will be processed. A budget must be attached.

Applications that are approved will receive the full amount after documentation of the completed project is attached. Exceptions to this may be granted if necessary for the implementation of the project or trip.
