There is growing interest in establishing and running music publishing houses in Norway. With this as a backdrop, the Music Publishers Association is now launching a mentoring scheme where both new entrepreneurs and more established publishers can get good advice and tips.

The new mentoring program is primarily intended as inspiration in a start-up phase for new music publishers, but can also be used by established music publishers who want to improve their skills in a new area. The mentoring program will give participants insight into the music and music publishing industry, and they will be able to receive guidance on everything from agreements to general industry knowledge.

The mentoring program consists of three meetings of one to two hours, and has a participant deductible of NOK 1000.

The mentors in the program are Kai Robøle (Waterfall Music & Arctic Rights Management), Stine Lieng (Warner/Chappell Music Norway), Unni Boretti (Norsk Musikforlag), Odd Steenberg (Norsk Noteservice), Jørn Dalchow (DaWorks Music Publishing), Fritjof Hungnes (Propeller Music), Mia Hallesby (GILT) and Sarah Chanderia (Hacate Music Group).
