/ 07/04/2017 / codexIf you can document that you or others have performed your works at concerts in the United States in 2016, you can now apply to TONO's American sister organization ASCAP for compensation.
To be able to get paid for this from Ascap you must download this form to your machine, fill it out, save it, and then return it to wenche.gjestvang@tono.no, who will take this further with Ascap. Use one row in the form for each work performed. If several of your works have been performed at the same concert, create a row for each work, where you enter the work ID and title. At least one of the three fields for work identification must be filled in for each reported work, and in the following priority order: ISWC, but if the work does not have an ISWC number, use the work number at TONO. You can find the ISWC number for the work by first going to the work title, then details. The CAE number is the same as the IPI number, which can also be found on your website. Contact Member Services at medlem@tono.no or 22 05 72 80 if you have any questions regarding this.
Ascap operates with three categories of applications:
1. Live Pop Performances – Top 300 Tours and Venues
This includes the largest tours and concert venues, and specifically includes the following 14 stages:
2. Symphonic, Recital, and Educational Performances ("Art Music")
If your concert performances fall under this point, please contact Wenche Gjestvang at wenche.gjestvang@tono.no.
3. Live Pop Performances On Stage
These are live performances of pop music that have not taken place at the venues listed under point 1 above or that naturally fall under point 2. For this point, you must comply with the following: You can apply for 2016, and must be submitted to TONO no later than May 10, 2016. Complete the OnStage Claim template, and fill in all required fields listed below. If any of this information is missing from your application, the application may be rejected and result in you not receiving any payment for the reported performance or possibly delayed processing. All claims from your collaborators (e.g. co-authors in your works) must be included in a single file, Ascap does not accept individual files for each co-author.
