After 31 steady years on the road, without breakups or reunions, Motorpsycho has a unique place in Norwegian music history.

The Trondheim band has dozens of album releases under their belt, and most recently, a few weeks ago, received rave reviews for their brand new collaboration with Ole Paus on the album "Så nær, Så nær".

Bassist and vocalist, Bent Sæther, is a guest on a new episode of TONO's podcast Lage Musikk. In conversation with host Torgny Amdam, he talks about Motorpsycho's 30-year journey, their collaboration with Ole Paus, and the band's phobia of repeating itself.

You can listen to the episode on Spotify, iTunes or other platforms where you listen to podcasts.

– We only have done

One of the most unique things about Motorpsycho is their unparalleled ability to innovate. The band cannot be identified as a specific genre or style.

In connection with the 30th anniversary in 2019, Musikknyheter.no wrote, "Every new record is a troll in a box, and you look forward like a child on Christmas Eve to what is hidden behind the packaging."

 -  We discovered very early on that if we tried to recreate something that had occurred genuinely, it would be half as good, says Sæther in the podcast.

He emphasizes to Amdam that variety and innovation were never a plan.

– I don't think we had a plan. We just done. But once you've achieved something, it's not as much fun to do it again. A kind of phobia of repeating yourself emerged very early.
