We recently received the sad and unexpected news that our dear colleague Tor-Erik Askildsen had died, at only 38 years old.

Tor-Erik was hired in TONO's IT department as a "full stack developer" in the fall of 2020. As a passionately interested in both music and his profession, TONO was a good match for him.

At TONO, his main task was to develop and improve the systems for quality assurance and further development of "advanced matching" of works, one of the core tasks at TONO. He did this in an outstanding manner, and his work has contributed greatly to these functions now running faster and with great stability.

As a developer, he was knowledgeable and professionally strong. He was thorough and systematic. He was collaborative, and showed in practice that he believed that the best solutions are created together. He eagerly shared his expertise with colleagues around him, both in the IT department and outside, and those who came to TONO after him received good help from Tor-Erik in finding their feet.

He had a gentle and friendly appearance, but he also had a wonderfully subtle sense of humor that we will miss. It is not so rare that he has created big outbursts of laughter with his comments. He was active in the social environment in TONO, where he always showed up enthusiastically. The last social gathering was in connection with by:Larm in September, and there he also got to see many of the concerts, which he had selected after careful planning.

Tor-Erik was looking ahead, both at work and in his private life. He had recently moved into a new apartment and had many plans for the future. We feel all too well that he is gone.

We pay tribute to the memory of Tor-Erik Askildsen.
