Live performances abroad: UK and Germany

If you or others perform your music live abroad, you must remember to report it to TONO.

When members report concerts abroad to TONO, we notify our sister society in the country in question.

Basically, you report the concert as normal in the member service. My TONOHowever, some of our sister societies have special requirements for the reports.

Here you can read how to ensure you meet the requirements of PRS (UK/Great Britain) and GEMA (Germany)

PRS – UK / United Kingdom

All concerts in the UK must be registered in the PRS online system no later than one year after the performance. The deadline is final.

This registration is carried out by TONO when we receive your music report in the member service. My TONOThis must happen as quickly as possible, and no later than three months after the performance.

In connection with concert reporting in the UK – Please also note:

1. When performing live at a festival, you must enter the name of the festival in the field Customer and the scene name in the field Venues. If there is only one stage at the festival, you write hand stageThe festival's name should not be on it. Venues
2. For individual concerts, information is often required about whether the artist or band is headliner or supportAre you support, also write who is headlinerThis information must be filled in. Note field.
3. It is important that you provide both the name and address of Venues.

GEMA – Germany

All concerts in Germany must be registered in GEMA's online system no later than March 31 of the following year. The deadline is final.

This registration is carried out by TONO when we receive your music report in the member service. My TONOThis must happen as quickly as possible, and no later than three months after the performance.

The deadline, March 31 of the following year, requires that concerts in December must be reported immediately after they have been performed. If new works are performed at the concert, these must be registered before the concert report can be submitted.

In connection with concert reporting in Germany – Please also note:

1. Concert start and end times must be filled in.
2. Are you support, also write who is headlinerThis information must be filled in. Note field.
3. GEMA would like your name and address, and not least your email address. Customer. That is, the person responsible for the concert. However, this is not mandatory.
4. It is important that you provide both the name and address of Venues.

General information for concert activities abroad

As mentioned at the top of the case, you basically register concert performances abroad in the same way as in Norway.

It is important that all works included in the concert report are registered before the concert report is submitted. When performing works that are not yours, please fill in the title and author(s). 

Please note in particular that if you hold multiple concerts in the same concert venue, separate concert reports MUST be submitted for each individual event.
