In connection with the Oslo Philharmonic birthday concert at Oslo Concert Hall Therese B. Ulvo's "In the Cage" and a performance of "13 Ways to Tame a Beast" as an orchestral work in the small hall will be premiered at 6:00-7:00 PM, Saturday, September 28. The commissioned work is produced in connection with the project KUPP, a development and networking program for young, promising composers under the age of 35.

As a 100th anniversary gift to the Norwegian Composers' Association, TONO provided support for the KUPP project in 2017. Therese B. Ulvemo was the first composer selected for the project.

Six orchestras and composers

Six orchestras from all over Norway are participating in the program. The orchestras each choose one composer from whom they commit to commissioning a completely new work. The ambition is that the works will reach a large audience, and bring new Norwegian composer talents to an international market. The academic program in KUPP runs over one year, and the commissioned works must be premiered by the orchestras within 24 months of the start of the program. Therese B. Ulvo's work is the first in the series.

The project is carried out in collaboration with Talent Norway, the Norwegian Composers' Association, the Norwegian Composers' Foundation, TONO, NB Noter, Sparebankstiftelsen DNB and Music Norway.
