28,900 have signed Gesac and Ecsa's campaign in support of songwriters, composers and lyricists. If you haven't signed yet, you have until May 31st to do so!
/ 15/05/2014 / codexThe campaign has been a great success so far. More than 28,900 signatures have now been received from all over Europe, of which 401 are from Norway.
The period for the signature period has now been extended to ensure the largest possible number of signatures before the EU presents its guidelines for the future of copyright in Europe in June. The results of the signature campaign will be presented to the EU in early June.
Behind the campaign is Gesac, the European association of "TONO companies", as well as ECSA (European composer & Songwriter Alliance).
The backdrop for the campaign is the EU's work on copyright. We need to make our voices heard to make it clear to the EU that those who write music need fair and good copyright. This will ensure that new music can be created in Europe.
