Kilden Theatre and Concert Hall for Southern Norway (Kilden TKS) will open in January 2012. This will be Norway's second largest arts center after the Norwegian Opera & Ballet.

The institutions Agder Teater, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and Opera Sør will merge into one organization before moving in. This is the first time in Norway that several art institutions have merged. In addition, Kilden TKS will be the arena for various cultural center activities from regional actors to international stars.
The future owners of Kilden TKS hereby invite you to a composition competition. We want to create a unique sound identity for the house of high artistic quality and great durability. The sound needs include:
The signals should be related, yet so specific that the audience eventually “learns” which room they are addressing•
It is desirable that the different signals have a clear intrinsic value, but at the same time a close relationship to a common sonic universe.
1. Submission of proposals for basic compositional material, sound samples and a description of further development of the work. Deadline: June 26, 2011 2. From the submitted material, the jury will select up to 5 contributions that will be invited to realize the final proposal. This will be done according to a more detailed requirements plan. This work will be paid for. Deadline: October 1, 2011
The winning design will be awarded NOK 50.000 – and will be used as the basis for Kildens klang on all relevant platforms from the opening in January 2012.
