Here you can read CEO Karl Vestli's Christmas greetings to TONO's members.
/ 22/12/2023 / Willy MartinsenThe TONO year 2023 is almost over. There has been a lot of activity in music Norway and we can look back on a record year. In the annual report for 2023, we will be able to point to record-high figures, both for remuneration income and settlement payments.
During the year, TONO gained more than 2,000 new members, and around 15,000 members received payments from us.
Technological developments continue at a rapid pace all around us. In the past year, artificial intelligence has seriously entered our lives, creating both opportunities and threats for those of us concerned with copyright and music creation.
We also see new players and changes in the market, and work is underway to change licensing and billing models. TONO is well positioned to safeguard the rights we manage, and in 2023 has worked well with players, companies and authorities.
Internally at TONO, necessary changes are being made to adapt to the market, legislation and expectations from both employees and members. Our technology program, Mjolnir, is well underway, and several visible changes in our IT solutions will become noticeable during 2024.
In December, TONO as a workplace was certified as «Great Place to Work©», and to strengthen further development, we will welcome more new employees in 2024.
At the end of the year, news came that TONO was buying the property. Kongens gate 12 in the center of Oslo. Here we have an ambition to develop a House of Music for members and industry players.
We at the administration are grateful for the trust you have placed in us. shows us through the mission we have been given and which we carry out with great joy and enthusiasm.
We wish you all a peaceful and wonderful Christmas celebration, and all the best for the new year.
Sincerely,
Karl
