Changes in reporting to the Norwegian Tax Administration may have resulted in an error in your TONO income on your tax return. Here you can read what to do.

TONO reports to the Tax Authorities every January how much each individual TONO member receives in settlements. In such reporting, TONO has used LTO code 401 in the payroll and withholding statement, as the Tax Authorities have proposed.

However, as of 2015, the reporting scheme has changed. Payments to self-employed persons (formerly LTO code 401) must now be reported using a new task type. TONO has done this, but there is uncertainty about how TONO will report this in the future.

The uncertainty surrounding this has meant that you, as a TONO member, must take an extra look at the tax return you have received to see whether the reported remuneration from TONO has been entered in the correct account before submitting your tax return.

If the amount from TONO is entered in the wrong account, you must change this before submitting it, either electronically via the Tax Administration's website or on paper. Please note that if you have received a tax return for a business, this must be submitted electronically.

If you are unsure or have questions about your tax return, contact your local tax office.
